SMITH NAILED IT
I would like to rephrase and apologize for part of a recent letter I had written about CBC’s rare attempt to break an Alberta story, while clearly looking to stir up the pot, regarding the Coutts blockade and protests and alleged interference by Danielle Smith. I’d written about their “shoe-string” budget in Alberta, when what I’d meant to express was their “shoe-string” interest in our province. I stand corrected.
will just get madder. They raise the Bank of Canada interest rate to curb inflation. Now people aren’t buying as much so companies have to increase prices to make their profit margins. People are getting laid off because sales are down so even fewer people can afford their products. Now they have to raised their prices again to make the same profit. Meanwhile, people are walking away from their homes because they can’t afford the interest rates. This is what government math looks like.
