Our youth baseball team, on the way back to Del Rio from an Austin baseball tournament, stopped there back in the ’50s. As we all sat in a group waiting for the waiter to take our order, our coach was summoned to a corner by the manager. Our coach returned to tell us that our two teammates of color, if they wish, could be served in the kitchen.Andy Porras, Sacramento, Calif.Help me understand.
Either Fuentes appreciates Ye’s hatred of Jews and therefore overlooks his skin color, or he accepts that Ye is transracial.For the life of me, I cannot understand why Republicans are so opposed to sick leave. Many, if not most, employers offer some sick leave. Who wants sick people coming to work, infecting others and underperforming? People get sick; they have family members who get sick.
To deny this is ridiculous and cruel. These legislators have such benefits, so why turn their backs on everyone else?Near-record interest rates? Really? I purchased my first home in 1984, and fixed mortgage rates were 13 percent-plus, so I did an adjustable-rate mortgage. Current rates are in the 6 to 7 percent rate, so hardly near record rates! Quit discouraging people from buying homes.
