A last-ditch intervention by Gauteng ANC deputy chairperson Panyaza Lesufi and national party leaders has prevented the Patriotic Alliance from pulling out of coalition partnerships in Gauteng and the North West.
Lesufi, who is set to go up against Gauteng Human Settlements MEC Lebogang Maile in June for the position of ANC provinsial chairperson, intervened to ensure that the party is not dealt a further blow by losing another municipality in the province.
