Lerato Kganyago and DJ Sbu apologise for defending Chidimma Adetshina
Media personality, former Miss Soweto and Miss South Africa 2024 judge Lerato Kganyago has taken to her Instagram page to apologise for standing with former Miss SA contestant Chidimma Adetshina.
All I wanted to do was stand up for another black woman. I apologise to those who have been offended by so doing. With that said, I respect opinions, respectfully so. But insults about my womanhood, I definitely will block you. All love.The businesswoman’s apology came after there was already a petition to unseat her as a judge because people thought she was biased while others were unhappy about her defending a person who they thought could be in the country illegally.
“Some people are just saying I am sounding arrogant, I just want to say I’ve never been arrogant at all. I’m a proponent of advocating for young people’s success and young people going for their dreams. I’ve never been anybody that would give out intentionally an attitude of arrogance. I’m humbling myself as the law is taking its course,” said the presenter.
“It is so unfortunate that Chidimma is a scapegoat for a much bigger issue in SA. If anything, this exposed the level of corruption taking place in government. We need to hold them accountable for allowing such unethical procedures to take place under their governance,” she wrote.
