A Premier League manager has asserted that one of his African stars is worth more than the £50 million (R1 billion) valuation reportedly being offered for his services by another English club. SLInt MORE:
Nigeria and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been the subject of much transfer speculation, with the likes of Aston Villa and Manchester United said to be interested in his services.
It is the Villans who have shown the most interest in the Super Eagle, with the Midlands club reportedly prepared to offer the Foxes £50 million for Ndidi. Prior to Leicester's UEFA Europa Conference League encounter against Randers on Thursday night, the boss of the 2015/16 Premier League champions, Brendan Rodgers, was asked about the price tag placed on the midfielder amid speculation linking him with Villa.
"He's worth much more than that [£50 million]," the Foxes boss said in a pre-match press conference, as perRodgers also admitted that when a player performs as well as the 25-year-old has for a high-calibre team such as Leicester, interest from other clubs is inevitable, but believes Ndidi wants to stay."A player of that quality and mentality, of course, you want to always keep, but when you have that player, he will always attract interest.
