Football Insider has learned that Coventry City star Gus Hamer is likely to cost interested sides such as Leeds United upwards of £12million this summer.
However, Coventry are desperate to keep hold of Hamer as they attempt to push for promotion to the Premier League once again this term.
The Sky Blues have already sold last season’s top scorer Viktor Gyokeres to Sporting CP for a reported fee ofIt is believed they are likely to ask for another eight-figure fee if they are forced to part with Hamer in the final month of the window. Premier League clubs have also registered their interest in Hamer – with Burnley seeing a player-plus-cash bid rejected earlier this summer.Football InsiderThe Brazil-born star is currently out of contract in less than 12 months and can negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in January.He has now racked up 130 games across three seasons at Coventry since arriving in England in July 2020.
