Football Insider has been told by Kieran Maguire that Leeds United could now benefit from their 'gamble' on relegation loan clauses.

However, Maguire now believes the loan clauses ‘could be beneficial’ if Leeds are able to sell players next summer for higher value.At the same time, they won’t necessarily be paying all of those players’ wages, so there’s going to be a trade-off. “A lot will depend on where Leeds United are playing next season and whether those players who contributed towards the club being relegated are good enough for the Premier League in 2024/25.Having had a year outside of the club with a change of culture and background so potentially it could be beneficial.I think it’s indicative of the previous regime looking for an exit route and not wanting to commit themselves to significant financial costs as a result of that.
