Diego Llorente's permanent transfer from Leeds United to Real Betis has been confirmed at Elland Road for more than €3m
A 13th senior exit since Leeds United’s Wembley play-off final has been confirmed with the permanent transfer of Diego Llorente to Real Betis. An offer of around €3m was rejected over the weekend, but a slightly improved bid was accepted by the Whites on Monday.
Llorente initially arrived at Elland Road after the club won promotion to the Premier League. Arriving in September 2020, the Whites had paid around £18m to Real Sociedad for the Spain international. Llorente would then finish that first season under Marcelo Bielsa with a string of regular starts which continued into 2021/22 under the Argentine and then Jesse Marsch. A disastrous display at Brentford in September 2022 virtually ended his time at Elland Road, beginning with that initial Roma loan in January 2023.
