If you're planning on taking a holiday abroad this summer, then you may have had to take airport parking charges into consideration, but there are ways to save your money.
Car Lease Special Offers have analysed the price of parking at 20 different airports in the UK. They then ranked the car parks by their cost of drop off, long stay costs and the number of EV chargers, reports Wales Online. They worked out that by pre-booking a car parking space, you can save an average of £97. Nearby Manchester Airport has the biggest pre-booking saving of up to £290.The data is based on booking away a week in late July. At Leeds Bradford Airport, you could save £66 by pre-booking your space.
Meanwhile Edinburgh Airport comes out as the cheapest for pre-booking overall, at only £39.99. The smallest saving you can get is at Cardiff Airport, with £17.50 saved. The vast majority of UK airports have the option to drop holiday goers off for free, but figuring out which is the hardest part. Mostly, these areas are the long stay car parks, but with most drivers opting to go to the drop-off areas or short-stay parking, they could be paying a bit more than they need to.
