Many educators claim their pay sits well below the levels of cost of living pay awards set by current public sector pay policy.

EIS-FELA members have been engaged in industrial action since the middle of February and have already taken a day of national strike action this month. If no agreement can be reached, a rolling programme of strikes will begin on Tuesday, April 16 with several colleges engaging in strike action each day for 14 days.Protesters also have plans to deliver a report card to the First Minister, appraising his efforts on his commitment to education.
