The champions of Africa Senegal kept their spot as the highest-ranked African nation in the August rankings, as they find themselves in 18th spot.
The Lions of Teranga were involved in the African Nations Champions qualifiers last month, with a group of locally based players beating Liberia 4-2 on aggregate.Morocco, meanwhile, have dropped one spot to 23 in the latest rankings after being overtaken by Iran, but they are still second highest-ranked African nations on the list.
Senegal are the only African nation currently in the top 20 heading into this year's World Cup in Qatar, which is scheduled to get underway in November. Bafana Bafana, meanwhile, find themselves in 68th position following their exploits at the COSAFA Cup and CHAN Qualifiers last month. Overall, Brazil still sit top of the FIFA men's rankings followed by Belgium and Argentina in second and third respectively.
