‘REST IN PEACE’: SUNDOWS AND MOTSEPE FAMILY’S TRIBUTE TO LUKE FLEURS, Gauteng police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo has revealed new details in the matter, saying the Kaizer Chiefs star was driving a red VW Golf 8 GTI into the petrol station on 14th Avenue when two armed men pointed a firearm at him, forcing him to get out of the car.
“While waiting to be served by the petrol attendant, he was confronted by two armed males who came driving a white BMW 1 Series… One suspect drove off with the victim’s car followed by his accomplice,” Masondo was quoted as saying.
“We pray that the Almighty comforts and strengthens the Fleurs’ family, his friends and former teammates at the Club and National Team level. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and teammates at this trying time… Rest in Peace Luke,” the club continued., Mavela Masondo has revealed that no arrests have been made following Luke Fleurs’ death — the young soccer star had taken a bullet to the chest.
“We woke up to the heartbreaking and devastating news of the passing of this young life. This is such a huge loss for his family, friends, teammates and football in general.
