After arriving home, she was in visible distress and said the doctors at the clinic didn’t provide her any treatment or medication. “It was late evening when one person was passing by her when she was still alive, but he didn’t call 911,” Irina said.Besides their concerns with the ER discharge and the clinic appointment cancellation, the Andriychuks said Yuliya experienced other treatment problems in the Nova Scotia mental health system.
“Yuliya was not terminally ill, and with adequate treatment and support she could live long and happy life,” Irina and Mike said in an open letter to Brian Comer, minister for mental health and addictions. “Our daughter had followed all procedures and treatment assigned to her, why she is not with us?”
