Trump was particularly riled by Piers rubbishing claims the 2020 presidential election, in which Trump lost to Joe Biden, was rigged.
The Republican politician branded Piers a "fool" no less than seven times and ended the ill-tempered exchange by storming off. There was a similar tantrum from rapper Kanye when he appeared on the show after using vile anti-Semitic language. Piers held the star and his huge ego to account, eventually managing to wrestle an apology out of him during the two intense hours of back and forth.
And with the political and media landscape spicier than ever, there will no doubt be bigger and better to come in the year ahead.
