Langford council plans to hold a special meeting Wednesday to consider adopting a new bylaw prohibiting cutting down trees with a trunk diameter greater than 20 centimetres without a permit.
In a report prepared for Wednesday’s council meeting, staff noted there were a number of instances where trees have been removed recently without permits, suggesting the removals may have been tied to the fact council was considering a tree-management policy.
