Northbound lanes of South Alamo Street from Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard to Market Street were shut down Monday morning and will remain closed off for the remainder of the project, which could last until the end of 2025.
The man works close to the intersection of South Alamo Street and Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard. Since the construction started, the man said he’s seen growing frustrations with lane closures and detours. With multiple lanes merging and alternating, drivers said it can become very confusing and at times, even dangerous.
A proposed solution by drivers is adding bigger and more visible signage and additional safety measures.
