Entwistle Hotel in Darwen sold beer at knockdown prices so punters could celebrate the life of Her Majesty with a pint at 1952 prices
Brits mourning the loss of Queen Elizabeth II were given the opportunity to drown their sorrows today for 6p a pint - the average cost of a pint when she acceded to the throne.
The pub said in a statement: “In honour of Her Majesty the Queen and her passing yesterday we have decided to sell all pints for 6p which was the price when Elizabeth ascended the throne in 1952. “We are a community local and we want to let our loyal customers celebrate her life with a pint and toast her majesty for 6p.”
