Daniel Hotchkiss was convicted at Airdrie Sheriff Court today of carrying out fire attacks on four cars and has been warned her faces a stint behind bars when he returns for sentencing.

Daniel Hotchkiss set fire to the vehicles as they sat outside their owner's homes in Lanarkshire. During one incident the yob managed to set himself alight as he set fire to vehicles belonging to pensioners aged 83 and 75. The 18-year-old first targeted an Audi A3 and then helped its owner and his mother try and extinguish the flames.

He set his shoe alight during this incident and fled the scene but was spotted by a neighbour in a nearby lane. When charged by police, brazen Hotchkiss, of Airdrie, replied: "It was not me all the way." "He is seen to crouch behind one of the vehicles, he lingers there for a few minutes and is seen to hold a white item in his hand.
