A Lanarkshire family is set to embark on a charity walk around a Scottish Island in memory of their beloved mum who passed away from dementia.

“She would have loved doing Scotland’s Memory Walk – she was that kind of person. She was an active member of our local church and community, helping in any way she could. She volunteered at the Anchor Boys and took so much joy from working with and supporting young people, it was a highlight of her week.

“Close to the time of his death, we noticed changes in mum's behaviour. She’d forget what she would need in a shop or buy the same thing two days in a row. She’d get frustrated easily too, but we thought it was stress, then grief from losing dad. “We were lucky - mum loved and remembered us to the end. She always wanted a kiss and hug. She was dancing and singing even in those last few weeks, an inspiration to us all.
