Earlier in the transfer window, the Portuguese international handed in a transfer request to United's hierarchy as he looks to navigate his way out of Old Trafford, to a team competing in the UEFA Champions League.
A club that meets the criteria is Atletico Madrid, with recent reports linking the 37-year-old with a move to Diego Simeone's side, a move that LaLiga head Javier Tebas has advocated for.ESPN"Whether it is feasible or not for Atletico Madrid, I do not know.
