Red Deer junior hockey player Cale Stecyk, 21, was the victim of a fatal human\u002Dtriggered avalanche in Lake Louise Saturday.
Cale Stecyk, 21, died in the avalanche, according to social media posts from his Rocky Rams Junior Hockey team.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to this family Alan, Shari and Teagan as well as his girlfriend McKenna at this time. As well as numerous friends, colleagues and teammates,” read the team’s post. “Cale was someone that everyone wanted to be around and play with, his infectious smile and presence will be missed by many.”
The team added counselling was available for all members of the organization affected by Stecyk’s death.
