The Lake District is currently battling extreme weather with flooding expected to continue at Keswick Campsite
Weather warnings have been issued for most of the Lake District mountain areas this weekend, as well as flooding at Keswick Campsite.
This means that an increase in altitude can increase harmful UV levels from sunlight, putting climbers at greater risk of sunburn and eye damage, even on seemingly overcast days. For tomorrow a ridge of high pressure will bring a dry day, although high cloud with freshening southerly winds will develop throughout the afternoon and the evening in the mountains. In towns like Keswick, the weather forecast isn't much more promising.
Areas most at risk are low-lying areas bordering the shores of Derwent Water and the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club site. It is also high at the Lodore gauge and will continue to be monitored closely.
