Laersdrif farm attack update- Mozambican workers brutally assaulted woman (80) and brother via SATodayNews

Mrs. Luus’s daughter and son-in-law also live on the farm but were fortunately not there at the time of the attack.

Three Mozambican workers knocked on the front door and Mr. Joubert opened the door because he knew the Mozambicans work on the farm.The Mozambicans demanded money and when the elderly brother and sister said they only have a little bit of cash, the attackers then started to brutally assault them. They chopped Mr. Joubert over the head with a panga and beat Mrs. Luus all over her body with the flat side of the panga. She was also beaten over the head with a glass bowl.

The attackers eventually left with about R500, a TV set, cellphones, smaller items and Mrs. Luus’s grey Opel Corsa car.Mrs. Luus managed to untie herself and walked 3 km in the night to a neighboring farm to get help.No arrests have been made so far.
