EXCLUSIVE: With the number of working royals running thin on the ground, a leading expert has revealed popular Lady Louise Windsor is unlikely to be asked to step up
King Charles' plan for a slimmed down monarchy has quickly become the norm after the departures of the Duke of York and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But, with the King and the Princess of Wales both taking a step back following struggles with their health, the Royal Family has been spread very thin on the ground in recent weeks.
Despite her suitability and popularity among royal fans, a leading expert has pointed out why it is unlikely that Lady Louise - the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie and elder sister of James, Earl of Wessex -would become a working member of the Firm during the reigns of her uncle, the King, or her cousin, the Prince of Wales.
"The most common complaint about the Royal Family is that they cost too much. Extra working royals would mean extra staff, extra administration, extra security – extra cost. And that is not the direction that either the King or William want to take.
