Our elected councillors have shown they are ready to replace platitudes with action in addressing Toronto\u0027s housing crisis head\u002Don.
Try as we may to retain some of the nostalgia for the days of Toronto the Good, our city has grown and quite clearly so too have the needs of our population.
For example, we currently have a cohort of boomers sitting on loads of equity aging out of their homes with limited options as to where to go. The pandemic certainly shone a light into the shortcomings of our long-term care facilities, didn’t it? Existing homeowners who are perfectly content to carry along with the status quo are likely going to hate this. There will be growing pains for all of us. While I don’t particularly relish the idea of having four sets of neighbours next door, I recognize that it’s where this city is going to need to go if there is any chance my children will be able to have a shot here.
