“It is the foremost protection that we have because, as the name suggests, it is the deterrence against the highest form of threat that our country could face. So that’s why we commit to it. Sir Keir warned that global affairs had become more volatile and admitted he would need to carry out a balancing act in relation to China.
“On the other hand, when it comes to global issues such as climate change, we will have to work with other countries including China.”
