Peace & Healing centers target LA communities that are the most in-need and have struggled with the impacts of systemic racism.

The idea of the pilot program — which includes centers spanning LA, from Wilmington to the San Fernando Valley — is to create physical spaces and public programming to provide assistanceto families and individuals who have been impacted by poverty, pollution, violence and other issues often related to systemic racism.

The Wilmington center, at a YMCA, 1127 N. Avalon Blvd., will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. but the site is still working on setting up a dedicated room like the one featured in Westlake. Most of the Y’s facilities are designed for multiple uses. El Nido Family Centers, in Arleta-Pacoima REPAIR Zone and Mission Hills -Panorama City-North Hills REPAIR Zone.
