DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal police have condemned a circulating voice note alleging that the deadly shooting in KwaXimba was linked to political violence.
On Thursday morning, officers shot and killed four suspected criminals during a shootout in the area. Hours later, an audio recording made the rounds on social media alleging that 11 people were killed in a suspected political violence incident."The voice note recklessly alleges that a vehicle was going around shooting at least four houses at KwaXimba in the Umsunduzi area. No dates nor timeframes are specified in the voice note and police condemn such a malicious statement with the contempt it deserves.
Mkhwanazi says they are still hunting for more suspects linked to this group, he also believes there are high calibre firearms that are used during robberies that police have to find.
