KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and Community Safety and Liaison MEC Sipho Hlomuka have outlined safety measures ahead of the EFF's national shutdown on Monday, saying police are on standby and will focus on hotspots. 20March2023
Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Hlomuka, PC, Lt Gen Mkhwanazi & security stakeholders are briefing the media on measures put in place to ensure safety, security & stability during the planned protests, as well as policing matters in KZN.
“We know what happened previously and we heard of the threats about Phoenix. We are waiting to see what those that are threatening to do something in Phoenix, what is it they intend to do as they intend to do something as they said. We are combat-ready, we are going to be on their case.
