DA provincial spokesperson Sthe Ngema said the party had taken action on the matter. He said when the allegations surfaced, an investigation was launched and concluded before the end of 2022.
“We didn't know each other. I only knew her from the posters and I guess she didn't like me and didn't like the fact the community members elected me while I’m black. I haven't rested and won't rest until justice is done,” said Reed. Saying someone should not have been elected to a ward committee because of their skin colour is distasteful and unfitting of a public representative, said Zikalala.
