Shocking live footage on the BBC earlier showed a missile scream across the sky before smashing into a building. A spokesperson for the State Emergency Services told the Suspilne public broadcaster that several explosions rocked the Ukrainian capital causing deaths and injuries. Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitchko reported explosions in the city's Shevchenko district, a large area in the center of Kyiv that includes the historic old town as well as several government offices.
