The Australian didn't get the chance to experience group stage action last campaign due to injury.

Kye Rowles insists Hearts are preparing to offer up an act of redemption for the errors of their ways last season by putting PAOK to the sword.

“We are just fully committed to doing our best for this tie and hopefully we get the result we feel we deserve. I think a good start is pretty much non-negotiable. We managed to claw one back against Rosenborg over there in Norway. That went a long way, but we don’t want to start like that again. Not at home.

“If you manage to get through then you deserve to be there, just as the boys deserved to be in the group stages last season. You earn the right to play in these competitions. If we do it it would definitely be up there with what I’ve achieved in my career so far.” A fractured metatarsal prevented Rowles from experiencing group stage action last season as he was forced to sit at home and watch his team-mates go in against Fiorentina, İstanbul Başakşehir and RFS from the discomfort of his sofa and he believes the team is better equipped for the challenges this time around.
