Kuwait and Bahrain, expanding their refining capacity, are establishing fuel trading arms to sell diesel and jet fuel in international markets.
The state energy companies of Middle East ern oil producers Kuwait and Bahrain are setting up fuel trading arms to sell the higher volumes of diesel and jet fuel they are producing thanks to expanded refining capacity. Kuwait Petroleum Corporation KPC and Bahrain ’s Bapco Energies plan to raise overseas fuel sales and launch trading activities in Dubai by early 2025, company officials said at an energy conference in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates UAE, Bloomberg reports.
Earlier this year, Bapco Energies started a partnership with TotalEnergies, under which the French supermajor will support Bapco Energies in optimizing its Sitra refinery, which is currently being upgraded, and in trading of its petroleum products. KPC of Kuwait, for its part, is looking to tap more international markets after launching in recent months full operations at its new Al-Zour Refinery.
