Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Kong catches a ride on Godzilla's back in the latest teaser trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The upcoming film marks the fifth film installment in the Monsterverse and will see Godzilla and Kong crossing paths once more after Godzilla vs. Kong. In the last movie, the two Titans start their relationship as enemies, threatened by each other's power.
The short video also teases the rise of Skar King as the Monsterverse's newest villain. However, Kong appears overwhelmed by this new threat's power. Fortunately, he has aid in the form of a robotic arm and Godzilla. In one scene, Godzilla and Kong show how their relationship has grown as Kong grabs onto Godzilla for a ride as they run together.
The final battle in Godzilla vs. Kong may give viewers a preview into the Titans' dynamic in Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire. Although they reluctantly work together, they prove to be quite a good team. Godzilla uses his atomic breath to power Kong's axe, allowing the Titan to soundly defeat Mechagodzilla. After the battle, the Titans parted ways peacefully, butit would be a stretch to call them friends at this point.
