Kobe Bryant's Oscar-winning Dear Basketball is now streaming for free.

Directed and animated by Greg Keane, the film is based on a poem by Bryant that was published in and coincided with Bryant's announcement that he'd be retiring from professional basketball. reports that the short "tells the inspiring story of one little boy living out his basketball dream."At just 5 minutes and 22 seconds, it's inspiring and visually stunning, incorporating various styles of animation to tell Bryant's story. "It's a message for all of us," Keane said when he accepted the Oscar for Best Animated Short alongside Bryant back in 2018. "It's through passion and perseverance that the impossible is possible." Before today, only a trailer was available on Granity Studios's website and dearbasketball.com.
Variety adds that Granity Studios was just one of Bryant's projects post-retirement. In addition to the animated short, the company has published a young adult novel, , which was written by Annie Matthew and based on a story by Bryant. Granity has also produced a podcast,
