Kittatinny scored three unanswered goals in the second half to top Wallkill Valley, 3-1.
The group was outscored by Hackettstown and West Milford 9-0 in a challenging slate of back-to-back games but the snowball stopped there. A 1-0 win over Newton on September 9 got the good vibes going and Kittatinny is starting to gain some confidence entering the thick of the season.
The team was almost on the verge of entering the fourth quarter without scoring a goal for the fifth time this season. Caruso posted three goals and two assists a year ago and has already matched that goal output in just seven games this fall. As it stands now, this group owns a 1-2 divisional record and Hackettstown is at the top at 3-1. There’s a lot of track left, including five divisional games, to make a run for that top spot along with building a strong resume for the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament.
