The final that Maeder would have featured in was called off on Wednesday due to poor weather conditions, meaning the Singaporean teenager took home the gold medal. His results at the event also meant that he confirmed a quota spot for Singapore at the 2024 Paris Olympics. A quota place guarantees that an athlete from Singapore will be competing in the event at the Olympics.
On Tuesday, there were two silvers and two bronzes for Singapore, courtesy of Justin Liu and Denise Lim and Isaac Goh as well as Keira Carlyle and the duo of Kimberly Lim and Cecilia Low .
