One night after scoring four goals in the second period of a win in St. Louis, the Kings see Dallas do the same thing to them in a 5-2 loss, with the host Stars scoring three times in 91 seconds.
DALLAS — The Kings abused the St. Louis Blues with a four-goal second period on Monday night, but just 24 hours later the Dallas Stars showed them what it is like to be on the wrong end of that scenario.
Kings coach Todd McLellan was disappointed his team didn’t come out mentally sharp for the second night of the back-to-back set. Heiskanen, a first-pair defenseman, excelled in his first game back after missing three straight with an upper-body injury. That included two-way play and serving as point man on the power play that went 3 for 4.
