Keeping committed the offence in Windsor on Oct. 1, 2022. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Keeping gave blood alcohol readings of 130 and 130. On Jan. 27, Murphy changed his plea to guilty to a charge of permitting an animal, horses, to be in distress. On the same date, Wright changed her plea to guilty to a charge of causing an animal, horses, to be in distress.

Manning fined Wright $1,000 and granted a 10-year order under the Animal Protection Act, with exceptions, prohibiting her from the care or custody of farm animals.Murphy and Wright committed the offences in Scotch Village between Dec. 22 and 29, 2020. A charge against Murphy of causing an animal to be in distress and a charge against Wright of permitting an animal to be in distress were dismissed on Jan. 27.
