King Charles is preparing to take the throne with confidence, according to a body language expert.
Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, noted that the King has become more statesmanlike and in control in recent years, showing increased self-assurance in public, comparing Charles' body language during his investiture as Prince of Wales in 1969 to how he appears now and noted a remarkable transformation.
"At the time, he made a gesture that he hasn’t for many years, which is to do with his hands. During the ceremony, he was often seen doing something called hand ringing, which is a signal someone makes when they feel nervous. It’s a self assurance gesture, but on a very high level of the anxiety scale.”
"He displays greater confidence and self-assurance while interacting with other heads of state and high-ranking officials, which is evident through his non-verbal signals," says Stanton. “However, I have noticed a real genuineness in his body language in recent months, which is something he may have held back on before. This has been evident by the apparent warmth and joy in his facial muscles. We generally cannot fake this type of emotion.”
