When is King Charles III's coronation? Here's everything you need to know
Beginning at 1 a.m. ET, people will gather along the procession route viewing areas from the route between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.
At 4:30 a.m. ET, foreign heads of state and British royal family members will enter Westminster Abbey for the coronation. King Charles III and Camilla, who will still be Queen Consort during this time, will travel in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach to Westminster Abbey. They will travel in the Gold State Coach on their return trip to Buckingham Palace.
After the rites are completed, the Archbishop of Canterbury will anoint King Charles III with holy oil. The king will be given the royal robe, orb, coronation ring, sceptre and rod. King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned.
