Camilla will also be crowned Queen Consort beside her husband in Westminster Abbey
King Charles III's coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6 next year. Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned alongside her husband Buckingham Palace announced yesterday, October 11.
"The coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort."The palace added that the ceremony "will reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.
In addition, sources have told The Mirror that Charles's subjects will not get to celebrate an extra bank holiday under the plans for a slimmed down coronation. This is believed to be down to the fact May already has two bank holidays and there was no other time where ministers thought the coronation could take place.
