A former aide of King Charles III has shared an insight into the new King's 'relentless schedule' as he frequently works well after midnight and regularly skips lunch in favour of a walk
When first imaging what life must be like as the ruling monarch of the United Kingdom, many of us could be forgiven for thinking that it’s a life of leisure.
Sharing his own experience of working alongside the royal, his former press secretary Julian Payne shared an intimate glimpse behind the scenes of the former Prince of Wales’ day to day routine. Running his household with unprecedented precision, a small but dedicated team of staff, many whom have served the King faithfully for decades, help to keep his life in tip top shape - be it relaxing at home or heading into the office.
This is only likely to intensify now in his new role as the head of the monarchy in the United Kingdom, following his mother’s sad passing last week.At around 1pm, the King does take a small break, but it isn’t to chow down like many of us. Instead Charles prefers to “get outside and to walk” revealed Julian.
At 8:30pm sharp however, comes the main meal of the day, as Charles stops for long enough to enjoy a substantial dinner before head back to his desk at 10pm to continue working until well past midnight.
