The defender has sparked conversation in another international dressing room after his transfer
Kieran Tierney has become a hot topic in the JAPANESE dressing room as shared colleagues discuss his adaptation to life at Real Sociedad.
There's already plenty of Celtic influence in the Land of the Rising Sun camp, with Brendan Rodgers' key attackers Kyogo and Daizen Maeda in their ranks. But it's their former left-back who's got Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo and Arsenal's Takehiro Tomiyasu talking, with Tierney swapping the Gunners for the former's La Liga employers before the end of the transfer window.
He made his debut in last weekend's 5-3 win over Granada before heading back home for Scotland duty, but in the Japanese camp, Tomiyasu asked Kubo "You live close to Tierney, don't you?" The attacker responded with "Yeah, Tierney lives along the same street as my house", something which Kubo's peer already knew from talking to his Emirates colleague. Kubo added: "KT is really nice guy. And English he speaks is easy for me to understand.
From holidaymakers to footballers abroad, the Scottish dialect can be hard for people to get to grips with. But not for the Real Sociedad playmaker. He added: "It's easier for me to understand Scottish English spoken by KT than English spoken by Americans."
