Felix Olunkwa, chairman of the Abia state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations , who was abducted last month, has regained his freedom.

Ike Neliaku, president and chairman of the governing council of the NIPR, announced the release of Olunkwa in a statement on Thursday. Olunkwa was kidnapped on May 24 while driving home from the Alaoji mechanic village in Aba, where he had gone to repair a car.The NIPR president said Olunkwa was released on Wednesday night.He commended members of the Olunkwa family for being steadfast and cooperative despite the harrowing situation.He also conveyed the gratitude of Olunkwa to the NIPR family for rallying support and prayers during his incarceration in the kidnappers’ den.
