Following South Africa’s failure to qualify for the 2022 Fifa World Cup, former Kaizer Chiefs wants Pitso Mosimane to return as Bafana Bafana coach.

Bafana failed to reach the playoffs round of the Fifa World Cup qualifiers after losing 1-0 to Ghana last weekend through a controversial penalty scored by Andre Ayew.

The South African Football Association has since lodged a complaint to Fifa and Caf to investigate the manner in which Senegalese referee Maguetta Ndiaye and his assistants handled the match. There are however, question marks asked of coach Hugo Broos following Bafana’s failure to qualify for next year’s World Cup and Khanye doesn’t believe that the Belgian mentor is the right man to lead Bafana going forward.

The former Chiefs winger has called on Safa to bring back Mosimane. Mosimane is currently the coach of Egyptian giants Al Ahly, where he has already won back-to-back Caf Champions League trophies as well as the Caf Super Cup.“I think we should bring back Pitso. I know he is still there in Egypt,” Khanye told“Pitso has proven himself, he is a South African, he understands players and he will call them according to his philosophy.
