Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane claimed Minister Pravin Gordhan had"given instructions" for her removal and wrongly alleged her protector was"poisoned" because of her so-called SARS"rogue unit" investigation – when he told authorities he'd overindulged, possibly on KFC. This was some of the bizarre evidence that emerged on day two of the testimony of Public Protector legal services head Neels van der Merwe, who on Wednesday told the Section 194 committee investigating Mkhwebane's fitness to hold office that a police investigation had found no trace of toxic substances in the body of the protector she had claimed was poisoned.
