It wasn’t so long ago that cycling was being called the new golf. I’m not sure who coined the phrase, but all the big hitters, the Economist, Financial Times and Wall Street Journal, used it to create an angle for features on the growth of the sport.
They went along the lines that more business folk were taking to cycling rather than golf, using it to network with other masters of the universe.
