Kevin Koe beats John Shuster’s U.S. rink 6-3 at world men’s curling championship Globe_Sports
Canada skip Kevin Koe reacts to this shot during a game against the United States at the men's world curling championship in Lethbridge, Alta. on April 4, 2019.Canada’s Kevin Koe hit a brilliant in-off for a pair in the ninth end of a 6-3 victory over American John Shuster on Thursday at the world men’s curling championship.
“It’s all we had but it’s a shot I’m comfortable with,” Koe said. “We’d thrown some out there earlier, I knew the spot. I thought if I threw it well, we’d be close and luckily for us, we made it.The home crowd at the Enmax Centre roared its approval and Koe’s teammates emphatically pumped their fists.
The Calgary skip, who was coming off two losses, improved to 7-2 while Shuster fell to 6-3. Koe is a two-time world champion while Shuster is the reigning Olympic champion.
