Kevin Costner is reportedly devastated after turning his back on a starring role in the critically acclaimed Yellowstone series to focus on his 'passion project' - only for Horizon: An American Saga to flop at the box office , and be panned by critics. Ouch. To add further injury to the veteran actor's ego, Costner allegedly invested about $38 million of his own money into American Saga, which he planned on being the first of a trilogy.

Costner was allegedly seething after Steve Carell's Despicable Me 4 outperformed his cowboy saga at the box office, despite the two films having had the same budget. The disappointing start fell short of the initial $12 million estimate for the $100 million production. Costner, however, seems to be dealing with disappointment by diving back into work and has reportedly been pushing for a fourth instalment of An American Saga.
